Over the years, LASIK has proven to be safe and effective when done skillfully by an experienced LASIK surgeon and for patients who are deemed to be good candidates bases on their eye health, vision correction requirements, ocular and corneal anatomy and expectations. If an eye doctor has not taken the care and performed a detailed and meticulous examination to be certain that all aspects of your eye health and anjatomy are proper for LASIK, or if you have unrealistic expectations, you can run into occasional LASIK problems.

Become familiar with the risks, complications and side effects of LASIK and ask your LASIK surgeon what your chances are of experiencing them in your particular case. Generally, the likelihood of problems with LASIK is small, however you need to be sure by having a thorough consultation with a LASIK surgeon who you trust.
